Pyro X's Top 10
Favorite Songs
Updated December 2, 2001
Music is a very
important thing. It can really move a person. Here I have put
together 10 songs that are really great and have moved me and
possibly many other people. This was done in the most unbiased
way. You may see more than one song for the same person, that is
just because this person have the ability to move myself and
other people with their music.
10. Dream On
Artist: Aerosmith
Writer: Aerosmith
Producer: unknown
Album: Greatest Hits (original LP unknown)
Record Label: Geffen
Release Date: late 1970's re-released in 1985
This song is really good. Now I know that isn't going to
make you listen to it but this is what got Aerosmith back on the
scene after their whole drug ordeal and band member conflict. I
like the version with the orchestra but the studio version of
that not the live version because that one kinda sucks.
9. Never Can
Say Goodbye
Artist: Jackson 5
Writer: Clifton Davis
Producer: Hal Davis
Album: Maybe Tomorrow
Record Label: Motown
Release Date: 1971
Now everyone knows that the Jackson 5 got zillions of hits
right? Well one thing that goes past a lot of people is that
this song is one of their top three greatest hits. Personally
this is one favorite (if not my favorite) J5 songs.
8. Forgot About D.R.E.
Artist: Dr.Dre featuring Eminem
Writer: Dr.Dre
Producer: Dr.Dre
Album: Dr.Dre 2001 (a.k.a Chronic 2)
Record Label: Aftermath\Interscope
Release Date: 1999
This song is really sweet. This was Dr.Dre's return as a
rapper. He brought along his rising star Eminem along to make
sure that this would be good. This song has one of those beats
that stick in your head and you just can't get rid of.
7. The Message
Artist: Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five
Writer: Grandmaster Flash
Producer: Grandmaster Flash
Album: unknown
Record Label: Def Jam
Release Date: 1980
This is one of two songs that are the anthems of hip hop.
The classic beat in this song been used and samples so many damn
times it isn't even funny. This song was the beginning of
Grandmaster Flash's reign as the the leader of hip hop. Also
this was the first song that had DJ effects in it.
6. This Is Me (Remix)
Artist: Dream featuring P.Diddy and Kain
Writer: S. Kipner, D. Frank, and P. Sheyne
Producer: David Frank
Album: It Was All A Dream (original version only)
Record Label: Bad Boy
Release Date: 2001
You know something, I really love Dream. They are so damn
talented and not to mention they are really hot. Especially
Diana. Now one thing that puzzles me is who the hell is Kain?
Maybe he will come out with some more music in the future, who
knows.
5. Hit 'em Up
Artist: 2pac
Writer: Tupac Shakur
Producer: Shuge Knight
Album: All Eyez On Me
Record Label: Death Row Records
Release Date: 1995
This song has so many violent references in it, that it just
makes it funny. Now I'm all east coast and everything but Bad
Boy really got it in this song (I hope that won't effect our relationship
Sean, we're still tight).
4. Unbreakable
Artist: Michael Jackson
Writer: Michael Jackson, Rodney Jerkins, Fred Jerkins III,
LaShawn Dainels, Nora Payne, and Robert Smith
Producer: Michael Jackson and Rodney Jerkins
Album: Invincible
Record Label: Epic
Release Date: 2001
This is the first track on this album and it really kicks
ass. It features and verse from the Notorious B.I.G. and
background vocals by Brandy.
3. Another Part Of Me
Artist: Michael Jackson
Writer: Michael Jackson
Producer: Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson
Album: Bad
Record Label: Epic
Release Date: 1987
This song is awesome. One of MJ's best work. This is the
best song on the best album ever made. It got a nice arrangement
of different instruments and they were put together very nicely.
2. Rappers Delight
Artist: Sugarhill Gang
Writer: Sugarhill Gang, Edwards/Rogers
Producer: Lewis Dene
Album: Sugarhill Gang
Record Label: Sequel
Release Date: 1979
This is the other anthem of hip hop. This was the first rap
song ever released in the main stream. Basically it is three
guys from NYC telling you how to rock to the rhythm of the beat.
The full version of the song is about 15 minutes. Personally I
think Master Gee is really the coolest of the gang because he
can rock, on, on, on, on, on, like a hot buttered a pop da pop da pop dibbie dibbie
pop da pop pop ya don't dare stop.
1. Billie Jean
Artist: Michael Jackson
Writer: Michael Jackson
Producer: Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson
Album: Thriller
Record Label: Epic
Release Date: 1982
This is the greatest artist's greatest hit. Billie Jean was
the second single off the greatest selling album ever. This song
was number one for a very long time and the song that took it
from being number was Beat It, another Michael Jackson song.
Also when this song was first performed live at Motown 25 he did
the most famous dance step to date, the Moonwalk.
