Jack Is Back...
September 6, 2001

Jackson, Michael Jackson that is. Yes this evening Michael Jackson briefly performed at the MTV Video Music Awards with Nsync.  The group was performing their song "Pop", when it came to Justin's infamous beat box part the song stopped and they stopped dancing. The set on stage was designed in a imaginational parallel universe type situation and there was an sketch around a monitor. The monitor said in sketched writing, "KING OF POP". Then was sketched Michael's famous Billie Jean stance, then Michael came out. The music began again and Michael busted a move. It was all Mike spins left and right. He was mainly Moonslidding. Unfortunately he didn't Moonwalk (damn it!).

Tomorrow night is Michael's big concert titled, "Michael Jackson 30: The Solo Years". This concert will take place in New York's famous Madison Square Garden. Some other people who will be there include Ricky Martin, Mark Anthony, Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, his brothers: Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, Marlon, and Randy, Britney Spears, and doing the Dancing Machine performance with the Jackson brothers will be Nsync. Unfortunately I don't have tickets (to read more on this terrible news, read the "I Want My Michael Jackson Tickets"). I tried for weeks to find other ways then paying those outrageous prices. I called into contests on radio stations, I looked for cheaper tickets, and I even called in radio stations and told them I would streak in Time Square if they would give me tickets. None of those worked. I saw a commercial during the VMA's on Michael Jackson, that they are going to air the concert on CBS in November, so I'll get a chance to see it still. But, I want to feel the joy of waiting 20 minutes in between songs, of Michael prolonging a short 3 minute song into a 7 or 8 minute ballad, and having the opportunity to throw something at Justin Timberlake.

More news on Michael Jackson, it seems that MTV is going to give MJ's new album a fair shot because there was a promo on MTV during the VMA's, and it was showing new videos from certain artists they were showing this fall. Surely enough Michael Jackson was the second person they showed. The new single, "You Rock MY World" is doing pretty well on the radio but it is not yet none to see where it will fall on the charts. The video for "You Rock My World" most likely may get a World Premiere on TRL when they kick off their new season on September 17. Now Michael's new album, "Invincible" has been pushed back a little bit. It is now set to be released on October 30 instead of September 25. Now I gotta wait about a month longer.

Back on the MTV Video Music Awards. They were a lot of big winners, but the most important winners were Nsync winning 4 VMA's breaking the record from last year of 3. The awards they won this year include "Best Pop Video", "Best Choreography", and the most important "Viewers Choice". Alicia Keys came up big with the "Best New Artist" award and she had a great performance of "Fallin". The "Best Video Of The Year" award went to Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink, and Lil' Kim featuring Missy Elliot with their song "Lady Marmalade" from the Moolon Rogue. Now the performance that got a lot of controversy evening before it was performed was Britney Spears. Apparently she had some animals in her performance and it got some animal rights activist upset, well I can see why. She is like spanking a freaking cheetah and lugging around a 4 foot long snake. You do that and not expect to get crap people, my God Jebus!! She was performing her new single, "Slave". The song is good, when you are singing it not lip-syncing it. If your not going to sing and do a Milli Vanilli, do it right. She really does good covering up her limp-synching, but she really sucked at it tonight.
